A good player must be able to read opposing defenses and adapt quickly to changing game situations.
The primary role of the defensive lineman is to block the opponent's play to help his teammates stop the advance of offensive players and create opportunities for defensive players to recover the ball.
Linemen must be strong and resilient to maintain their position, but also quick and agile to adapt to the situation.
